Mar. 31, 2020 (SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS) — Baptist Health Foundation of San Antonio announced today it will contribute $60,000 to local nonprofits combating the economic fallout of the COVID-19 crisis. A Disaster Grant of $50,000 will go to the COVID-19 Response Fund, a project also funded by the San Antonio Area Foundation, United Way of San Antonio & Bexar County, H. E. Butt Foundation, John L. Santikos Charitable Foundation, Kronkosky Charitable Foundation, Najim Charitable Foundation, City of San Antonio and many other for-profit and nonprofit partners. An additional Disaster Grant of $10,000 will go to the Salvation Army, an organization that BHFSA has supported in the past.
“It is our hope that these grants will help uplift and support our community during this time of crisis,” BHFSA President and CEO Cody Knowlton stated. “Baptist Health Foundation’s mission is to serve God by improving the health of our community, and that goal has not changed.”
The Foundation is also continuing its yearly process of receiving and reviewing grants from area nonprofits. “We know that this year has presented some unique challenges,” said Brent Salter, BHFSA Program Director. “We are assuring nonprofits that funding for their programs will still be available through the usual grant processes.”
