Our Work

Grantmaking

Baptist Health Foundation of San Antonio makes grants to approximately 100 nonprofits every year, ranging from community food pantries to churches to medical facilities. Through a thoughtfully-built grant application process, every nonprofit receives personal attention to ensure their best proposal moves forward.

BHFSA deeply values each and every opportunity to build long-lasting relationships and greater awareness of the situations affecting the residents of our service area.

The leadership of BHFSA is a diverse group of trustees from a broad spectrum of professional backgrounds. They are tasked with all funding decisions and devote hundreds of volunteer hours a year to work with staff and ensure that the Foundation’s mission of improving health is met.

Every grant recipient is given not only financial support, but also frequent encouragement and prayer. BHFSA staff and trustees consider it an honor to be part of the work that is being done by these organizations every day.

Gifts and Sponsorships

In addition to making grants, BHFSA sponsors a variety of community health-related events throughout the year that further the Foundation’s mission.

By the grace God has given me, I laid a foundation as a wise builder, and someone else is building on it…   For no one can lay any foundation other than the one  already laid, which is Jesus Christ.
